JNPT Becomes Preferred Destination For Deep Draught Vessels

Loading of 70,161 MT of ONGC crude oil on vessel MT Maharshi Parashuram of Shipping Corporation of India at BPCL Liquid cargo Jetty

Shipping Corporation of India’s Crude Oil Tanker MT Maharshi Parashuram  (LoA -237.6 meters) was berthed at LB-01 of BPCL run Liquid Cargo Terminal, JNPT at 21:00 hrs on 13th March 2016 for loading of ONGC’s Mumbai Region crude oil for MRPL refinery(costal movement) .  70,161.536 MT of Crude oil was loaded on the vessel with a sailing draft of 13.7 meters. The vessel completed operations at 07:06 hrs on 15th March 2016 and sailed at 14:30 hrs on 15th March 2016.  This is highest quantity of crude oil loaded on a vessel during the last three financial years. ONGC has handled 1.48 MMT Crude oil and 0.28 MMT of Naphtha at JNPT during the current financial year till date. This is example of synergies of resources of the public sector organisations in development of Nation. With the availability of higher draught and infrastructure, JNPT has become preferred destination for higher draught vessels.
