Senior bureaucrat Mr. Sanjay Sethi has been appointed as the Chairman of the Navi Mumbai-based Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), according to a Government order.
The 1992-batch IAS Officer of the Maharashtra cadre has been appointed to the post for a period of five years, the order issued by the Personnel Ministry said. The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) at Navi Mumbai is India’s No. 1 Container port handling more than half of the Container cargo across all Major Ports in India. Commissioned on 26th May 1989, JNPT occupies a prominent place among the most modern ports in India. It is the second youngest and one of the most modern Major Ports of the Country.
