Mr. S Kartik is an Executive Vice President in Deepak Fertilizer & Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DPFCL) heading Corporate Sourcing.
He has more than 15 years of rich professional experience in fertilizer industry with expertise in cross functional leadership, leading transformation, strategic sourcing & planning, supply chain management, risk mitigation and techno commercial operations.
In 2003, he started his career with Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals limited, after which he spend a brief amount of time in Lason India limited. Since 2007, he has been associated with DFPCL and has grown exponentially up the ranks. For some time in DPFCL, he has been an EA to the Chief Executive Officer which helped him expand his breadth of perspective and understand business better in a short period of time.
In DPFCL, he heads a team of 60 across the fertilizer supply chain of around INR 2,500 crores per annumin 3 manufacturing locations and 4 ports in India. He leads developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans for raw material and finished fertilizers.
Apart from this, he oversees procurement excellence for non-raw materials, inventory management, developing and managing distribution networks, tax management and process improvements.
From a scale perspective, his portfolio includes executing inbound logistics for 300,000 MT per annum and inventory management for more than 25,000 SKUs.
Over years, he has been instrumental in achieving substantial saving over benchmark prices, involved in optimization projects to improve throughput, driving innovation in sourcing and develop strong partnership with reliable vendors.
Cross functionally, he plays an instrumental role in designing DFPCL’s strategic outlooks and managing implementation of the same.
Industry has recognized him with accolades like “Supply Chain Officer of the Year”, “Chief Procurement Officer of the Year” for excellence in Supply Chain Innovation, best use of e-Procurement, Innovation & Technology in Procurement, Manufacturing excellence and excellence in risk mitigation strategy.
Apart from corporate work experience, he has entrepreneurial exposure in management consulting and educational industry.
