JAPANESE shipping giant Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) will levy a US$500 general rate increase on cargo from Asia to Southern Africa from August 1, the company announced.
For the purposes of the GRI southern Africa includes South Africa, Lesotho and Zimbabwe while Asia includes the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East.
"This GRI action is essential to sustain our service level", said the company. "Taking this opportunity, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for your support and understanding."
