JAPANESE shipping giant MOL has announced it will levy a general rate increase (GRI) on all cargo moving from Asia to southern Africa, saying the "action is essential for us to sustain our service level".
Starting January 1 2017, the GRI will be US$500 per TEU and $1,000 per FEU on cargo from Asia including Indian subcontinent and Middle East to southern Africa, including South Africa, Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
