FIGURES from the Hong Kong Marine Department showed the port handled 1.57 million TEU in April, representing a year-on-year decrease of 9.3 per cent from 1.73 million TEU in March last year.
Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority reported a 3.8pc decrease in container movement in April, having handled 2.53 million TEU compared to 2.63 million TEU in April last year.
Meanwhile Shanghai, the world's biggest container port, increased throughput 0.3 per cent to 3.12 million TEU in April year on year, according to the Shanghai International Port (Group) Co (SIPG).
