Asia-Europe rate drops 5.2pc to US$585/TEU, rises 2.1pc to USWC

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday dropped 5.2 per cent to US$585 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).

Asia-Mediterranean trade fell 2.6 per cent to $600 per TEU, London's Loadstar reported.

Asia to the US west coast rose 2.1 per cent week over week to $1,152 per FEU while those to the east coast were up two per cent to $2,192 per FEU.
