Capt Pappu Srinivasa Sastry is Dy CEO of PT Asian Bulk Logistics in Jakarta, a role he has taken up a few months ago to diversify and expand the boundaries of the traditional logistics company. As a Master Mariner and with 14 years at sea, he gained experience on various types of ships and applied it to the business concepts in Shipping that gained him recognition for “Innovation in Shipping”.
He had conceptualized and executed Project, Commercial and Ship Management businesses previously from the Hong Kong office of a Dutch outfit. He has initiated and executed ventures with a number of investors, traders and ship owners. He is considered an expert on several commercial, technical and management aspects of Dry Cargo Shipping. In 2015, Lloyd’s List magazine covered him as one of the “Top 50 Leaders for Shipping in the next generation.” Capt Sastry is an alumni of Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS).
With PT Asian Bulk Logistics, he is expecting to capitalize on the strong financial background of the company and the potential that Indonesia offers with respect to coal mining related Logistics. The logistical relevance and importance of Indonesia coal to Indian markets creates tremendous synergies at several levels.
