About Capt. Anil Kumar Sharma

Capt. Anil Kumar Sharma is presently overall in charge of the Offshore Services Department of the Technical & Offshore Services Division, one of the profit centres of SCI. He is responsible to oversee and monitor operations of the entire offshore fleet comprising 10 owned offshore vessels and 13 managed vessels of ONGC (including Multi Support Vessels, Mobile Offshore Drilling Units) and to provide effective logistic support to the Explorations & Production operations in oil fields. He is also responsible for maintaining the Offshore fleet to the highest standards of performance ensuring prime factors like safety of life and environment protection.

Capt. Sharma holds Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency, issued by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. He is also a fellow of the Company of Master Mariners of India.

His professional journey with SCI started as a Cadet in 1979.  After serving on diverse types of ships (mostly tankers) in various ranks and after putting in about 21 Years of floating service, Capt. Sharma joined the SCI shore establishment in 2000 as Superintendent in Tanker dept. He served in various Operating Departments of Bulk Carrier & Tanker division in different capacities for 13 Years. He has also served as Principal of Maritime Training Institute of SCI for 2 years. He has been instrumental in introducing various courses at the institute.

Capt. Sharma has vast knowledge and experience in handling various aspects of shipping such as Operational/ technical management of different types of vessels and fleet development activities.
