A Master Mariner and FICS with 16 years of sailing experience on various types of ships (Bulk Carrier, Tanker and Container vessels). Rich commercial and operating experience in shore-based Shipping of more than 20 years, a total of more than 36 years of experience in Shipping. Was instrumental in starting third party operating business in TMILL (Joint venture of Tata Steel, NYK and Martrade) and creating a strong brand in the global shipping arena. A highly-driven leader with strong techno-commercial acumen, Capt. Patnaik is continuously looking at striking the right balance between the changing business environment, stakeholder value and customer expectation. Focus and passion have been his strong foundation.

During his long stint of close to two decades in the Tata group and at the helm of International Shipping and Logistics FZE (ISL)Dubai, the Company has grown to handle multiple projects such as the Indian coastal container & RO-RO trade, Inter- PG aggregate trade, Liquid Cargo trade, provide last mile logistics solution to customers, Towage and harbour services etc.

Under the leadership of Capt. Patnaik, ISL extended its business into ship owning. Capt. Patnaik has also led ISL into strategic partnerships with reputed international ships owners / operators to increase its global footprint. 

Capt Patnaik Joined as Managing Partner and CEO in Panbulk Shipping, Dubai and Ripley Global Shipping in December 2023. Panbulk Shipping is into operating, commercial and Technical Management of ships . Ripley Global shipping has five ships under ownership. All are Panamax size Dry Bulk ships. Company is rapidly expanding its foot print in Dry Bulk Shipping with ambitious plans for growth in the coming years.

Capt. Patnaik is an active participant at various Maritime and Logistics Seminars & Conferences. He has been a speaker at several seminars, conferences and webinars wherein he has shared his vast knowledge with the maritime & logistics industry on various related topics.
