Capt. Rajeev Goyal started his sea going career in 1987 at the age of eighteen, as a cadet on Oil tankers with Great Eastern Shipping Co. After the completion of his rigorous training, he joined Anglo Eastern Ship Management (which were owned by Exmar) on Gas carriers.
At less than thirty years of age, he was one of the youngest in the fleet and the company to become captain on Gas Carriers transporting LPG and LNG all over the world. He was instrumental in taking out the first ship of the series from the yards around the world and setting it up to company standards.
Capt. Goyal also received the Maritime Award for Exceptional Bravery in saving a soul in stormy seas.
After a memorable thirty-three-year stint at sea, of which twenty-two years were spent in command of various gas carriers including some of the largest and most modern ships, he was chosen by the company to take over as Managing Director of their Indian office. He was in charge of looking after various interests in expansion, new building of ships, adding new ships to the fleet and manning them for other owners and had about 400 seafarers joining from India under their management.
Having been with Exmar since 1992, Capt. Rajeev Goyal is the example of true loyalty, integrity, and commitment.
