A brief introduction of Capt. Rajiv K. Tetarbe

Capt. Tetarbe is a shipping professional with over three decades of experience in Freight Operations, Shipping Management, Sale and Purchase of ships and Marine Insurance.

Presently, he is associated with Chellaram Shipping (Hong Kong) Limited, Hong Kong; working in the capacity of Commercial Director.

He started his shipping career ashore in 1992; having sailed at sea for 16 years in various ascending capacities.  He started his shore career as a dry-cargo broker in Dubai and thereafter moved to commercial operations connected with container shipping in the feeder segment.

Soon thereafter, he joined the dry-bulk segment in Owner’s office where he was in-charge of chartering and operations of bulk carriers.

He has looked after sourcing of the optimal employment related shipping solution for a fleet of 24 to 25 bulk carriers. This has included securing Contracts of Affreightments for bulk coal, iron ore and alumina.

Additionally, he also handles placement of appropriate marine insurance for the fleet (including P&I and H&M) in various markets including Lloyds of London.

Back in 2007, the company also diversified in the field of dredging and Capt. Tetarbe was actively involved in purchasing of two trailing suction hopper dredgers and subsequently of their commercial operations. These units have worked in various ports of India and he is a well-known name in dredging industry as well.

He is well-known name in the dry-bulk shipping fraternity in Pacific.

He is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and also a Fellow of Nautical Institute.

Introduction & Objective of DRYCON 2025

Dry Bulk cargoes such as Coal, Iron Ore, Grain, Limestone, Cement Clinker, Fertilizers etc. play a very crucial role in a country’s economic development and shipping industry plays a very vital role in the transportation of these cargoes. The conference aims to focus on all aspects of seaborne dry bulk cargo business involving all stakeholders .This one-day conference will not only provide an opportunity to bring discussions and presentations on the various issues (international, national and regional) in dry bulk cargo transportation but also seek new answers to the various challenges presented by current business scenarios. The conference will also present a unique opportunity to view the different perspectives offered by all the stakeholders like Miners, Commodity Traders, Ship Owners, Ship Managers, Operators, Charterers, Brokers, Stevedores, Ship and Cargo Agents, Insurance and Law Firms, Transporters, Govt.
