Our advice and solutions are tailored to meet the unique needs of industry stakeholders both at the pre-dispute and dispute stage.
We have extensive experience in assisting with transactions of ship sale purchase directly from the shipyard. This involved advising clients on a comprehensive, end-to-end basis, including drafting and negotiating memoranda of agreement, coordinating inspections and surveys, managing and structuring escrow and payment arrangements, liaising with flag states and registries, arranging delivery documentation, and overseeing completion and post-delivery matters to ensure a smooth and commercially secure transfer of ownership.
We also regularly handle disputes relating to bunker supplies, charterparties, bill of lading and other contracts of carriage including disputes concerning cargo damage/quality/shortage - bulk, dry, liquid and containerized cargo, disputes relating to off-hire, demurrage/detention, wrongful termination, ship sale purchase. We routinely deal with claims/disputes concerning a wide array of vessels such as bulk carriers, tankers, container ships, LNG carriers, ro-ro transporters and offshore vessels. In international trade, we specialize in resolving disputes under CIF, FOB, and other contractual frameworks for the sale and purchase of goods, addressing issues such as title, quality, rejection, pricing, and price adjustments. We have handled and advised on casualties, viz oil pollution, wreck removal, death on board, grounding of vessels.
We have advised port authorities / terminals / shipyards on various contractual issues including securing possession of assets, as well as issues posed by Customs authorities in respect of statutory circulars, etc. We have also dealt with various claims concerning port authorities including illegal detention of vessel, damage to port property / assets and charges levied by port / terminals.
Our services also extend to handling and advising on claims arising out of multimodal transport contracts - including transport by truck, air and storage at warehousing.
