SAEL Industries Limited is investing Rs 22,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh across renewable energy, biomass, data centres and port development, with a potential to create 7,000 direct and 70,000 indirect jobs.

The company has already commissioned 600 MW in a record nine months, which underscores its execution capabilities as it scales up investments in Andhra Pradesh as part of an MoU signed earlier, said an official release. 

The MoU is for a ‘multi-sector pipeline’ of industries, including utility-scale solar and storage, biomass-based power, a hyperscale-ready data centre, and port-linked infrastructure to anchor industrial growth and logistics efficiency. 

The major areas of proposed collaboration are seven solar/BESS projects totaling over 1,750 MW solar with grid scale storage in Kadapa and Kurnool districts including National Hydropower Power Corporation and Solar Energy Corporation of India-linked tenders, a 200-MW biomass project comprising eight 25 MW plants, a data centre investment of Rs 3,000 crore with associated high quality direct and indirect jobs, and a port development investment of Rs 4,000 crore aimed at strengthening maritime logistics and export competitiveness. 

IT & HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said he was delighted that SAEL was committed to investing Rs 22,000 crore in A.P. and it had already demonstrated excellent execution expertise.

He said that Andhra Pradesh was looking forward to SAEL investment under various State government policies and incentive frameworks.
