A proud moment at India Maritime Week 2025!
The Directorate General of Shipping, under the leadership of Shri Shyam Jagannathan, IAS, inaugurated the Seafarers’ Welfare Corner a dedicated space celebrating the wellbeing, dignity, and empowerment of Indian seafarers and cadets, the true backbone of maritime trade.
Envisioned by Capt. Nitin Mukesh, the stall provides an informative and engaging experience highlighting various schemes and welfare initiatives by the Seafarers’ Welfare Fund Society (SWFS) and Seamen’s Provident Fund Organisation (SPFO) ensuring long-term social and financial security for our maritime community.
From #SagarMeinSamman promoting dignity and equality at sea, to #SagarMeinYog focusing on mental and physical wellness, the corner reflects India’s maritime vision of inclusivity, safety, and holistic seafarer development.
