The Baltic dry index increased 0.4% to 2,725 on Thursday, extending a 1.7% rise in the previous session. The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes, including iron ore and coal, advanced 2% to 4,198, its highest level since July 16. On the other hand, the panamax index, which usually carries 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, fell 2.6% to a one-month low of 2,064. Among smaller vessels, the supramax index decreased 0.8% to 1,702, its lowest since July 9
