The information department said only VIPs will be allowed to garland the statue on Shiv Jayanti. Officials cited safety risks due to excavation and exposed steel rods. Reconsecration of Mulgao temple idol on Feb 20: The punarpratishthapana' (reconsecration) of Shree Dev Ravalnath at Shree Shantadurga Ravalnath Pomburphekar Saunsthan, Mulgao, will be held on Feb 20. Shree Shree Saunsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Mathadeesh Param Pujya Shreemad Vidyadheesh Teerth Shripad Vader Swami Maharaj will be in attendance. He will arrive at 9.30am. The muhurat is at 12.40 pm. The Swami will depart at 1.30pm.

'Run for spirituality' at Calangute beach: A 'run for spirituality' will be held at Calangute beach on Feb 21 at 7am as part of the Goa Spiritual Festival, 2026, promoted by Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji, Calangute MLA Michael Lobo said. It will feature yoga, cultural and spiritual events. Lobo said the initiative aims to rebrand Calangute as a spiritual tourism destination.

Copper items worth 35,000 stolen from Verna unit: Unidentified persons

broke into Siemens at the Verna industrial estate and stole copper items estimated to be worth Rs 35,000 from the factory's open shop area between Feb 13 and 14. Plant manager Lijo Anthony filed a complaint.

Police registered a case under Section 303 of BNS. Investigation is under way.
