Reviewing Coastal shipping Progress
Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon'ble Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways chaired a comprehensive review meeting with senior officials in New Delhi to assess the progress of coastal shipping, a key pillar of India’s multimodal logistics ecosystem.
The meeting reviewed the sector’s strong growth trajectory, with discussions focusing on dedicated berthing facilities, enhanced rail-port connectivity, specialised cargo complexes, improved vessel certification standards and measures to address bottlenecks across the value chain.
