Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) handled 82.62 MT of cargo during the financial year 2024-25, according to a release here on Tuesday. The port witnessed increased volumes across key cargo segments including crude oil, manganese ore, bauxite, rice and general cargo.
The Port chairman M. Angamuthu said, “This record cargo throughput is a testament to the relentless efforts of our workforce and efficient cargo evacuation strategies. VPA will continue to focus on infrastructure development, digitalisation and green port initiatives to enhance service quality and capacity.”
The chairman further said that the Port is also progressing with strategic projects such as the deepening of inner channel, mechanisation of berths with PPP, improvement to road infrastructure, and green port initiatives like shore power facility and one million tree plantation to support sustainable growth.
